Increase Governmental Accountability

In addition to identifying citizen’s rights to fair decision-making processes and a responsible, clean government, MEA works to make sure local and state governmental bodies respect these rights. Whether through litigation or less formal means, MEA holds government bodies accountable for their actions. The Sustaining Communities campaign protects open government provisions and exposes governmental mismanagement of our financial and environmental resources through improper use of development subsides, such as Tax Incremental Financing funds.
