Leave a Legacy of Environmental Justice with Midwest Environmental Advocates' New Planned Giving Program! The following are just a few of the planned giving options available. Bequest: A bequest is a gift of property or assets to a beneficiary as defined in a will. Acorn (Endowment) Fund: MEA established an endowment fund through the Madison Community Foundation in Fall 2006. When the fund reaches $10,000, MEA will be able to receive 5% of the fund on an annual basis. Gifts of Appreciated Stock/Mutual Funds: The gift of an appreciated asset, often common stock or mutual fund shares, is a valuable way to make a contribution to a charitable organization and receive tax benefits based on the value of the asset(s).
