NEW AT MEA

BIG NEWS!  On April 18, the Livestock Facility Siting Review Board overturned Crawford County’s decision to allow an existing livestock facility to expand.  MEA had appealed the county’s decision to the Board on behalf of 28 Crawford County citizens concerned about the health and environmental impacts of the expansion.

New! On April 14, 2008 the EPA granted the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians treatment-as-a-state status to run its own water quality standards program on its reservation. Prior to this decision waters on the reservation existed in a regulatory void. MEA supports the tribe's efforts to provide protection to their waters.
