Joining the Waters  --  October 21-22, 2005

Midwest Environmental Advocates joins with native and non-native allies around Wisconsin to host  a forum highlighting the connections between water quality issues and native sovereignty. Joining the Waters will provide a unique opportunity to discuss water quality in Wisconsin, how tribes are using their authority to protect water resources, and how conservation groups and tribes can better coordinate their efforts to keep Wisconsin’s waters clean.

Honoring Women in Farming

Over 100 people attended our event at Folklore Village to honor women in farming.   Wisconsin artist Kelly Parks Snider and video producer Jane Bartell collaborated with Wisconsin farmers to create Rural Women: Voice and Spirit.  Midwest Environmental Advocates sponsored this project to raise awareness about the important role women play in producing food and protecting the environment.
