Calling for Integrated Transportation Solutions That Help All Wisconsin Communities
As part of our work to create healthy, sustainable communities and promote environmental justice Midwest Environmental Advocates recently objected to Wisconsin Department of Transportation's plan to expand Milwaukee's Zoo Interchange. This massive funding of highway expansion is proposed primarily to reduce rush-hour congestion for suburban commuters. Meanwhile, the state has been reducing its share of transit funding for public transportation serving minority communities. The state needs to come up with a multi-modal plan that integrates transit as well as highways, to ensure that all residents of our region receive a fair share of the benefits of state transportation system investments. Read the comments and more on our website.
