Action on Old Coal Power Plant Needed to Protect Public Health in Milwaukee!
WE Energies is asking to renew the air permit for its oldest and dirtiest coal-fired power plant, the Menomonee Valley Power Plant. The pollution from this plant directly affects Wisconsin's largest concentrations of African American, Hispanic and Asian American residents, yet the plant lacks modern air pollution controls.
Midwest Environmental Advocates and other activists have requested congressional assistance in arranging for US Environmental Protection Agency to hold a community meeting in Milwaukee to receive input regarding the air pollution permit for for this generating plant.
