Wal-Mart Watch: Announces Madison Area Higher Expectations Week Events 11/14/2005 Contact: Nu Wexler at (202) 557-7440 Madison, WI., November 14, 2005 – This week, Wal-Mart Watch is sponsoring over 1,000 public events in all 50 states, including town hall meetings with elected officials, sermons by religious leaders, and premiere screenings of the new documentary film, “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price.” Below is information on some events in the Madison Area. Monday 11/14, 6:45 p.m. Stoughton High School — 600 Lincoln Ave. Screening of the new documentary film, “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price,” hosted by Stoughton Forward and the Sierra Club. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on saving small-town values in Stoughton, WI. Tuesday 11/15, 7:30 p.m. Barrymore Theatre — 2090 Atwood Ave., Madison Film screening of “Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price” hosted by Wisconsin Citizen Action & emceed by Rep. Terese Berceau, with a scene from the musical Wal-Martopia. Co-sponsors include: WORT, Sierra Club, League of Conservation Voters, UW Student Labor Action Coalition, Stoughton Forward, South Central Federation of Labor, Family Farm Defenders, Midwest Environmental Advocates, WI Citizen Action, Four Lakes Green Party of Dane County, Democracy for Wisconsin, and more.
