Position Opening for a Litigation Paralegal Midwest Environmental Advocates is a non-profit environmental law center that provides legal services to community groups that are working to protect the environment. Working in a “green-designed” office in Madison, Wisconsin, we are a small, dynamic office of attorneys and law student clerks. We work on a diverse caseload, from protecting our waters and air to ensuring the government is accountable to the public interest. The Litigation Paralegal will be immersed in all phases of advocacy and litigation. Using a blend of community organizing, education and legal and technical assistance, Midwest Environmental Advocates and its clients successfully protect the environment. We seek a Paralegal to provide legal support to three to five attorneys, and provide community organizing support in a variety of communities. The Paralegal will be expected to do general factual research and analysis of administrative records; comment on proposed permits; edit, proofread, assemble, and file legal documents; know court procedures; maintain litigation calendars; and maintain legal files, faxing, photocopying, and other legal support duties. Additionally, the Paralegal will draft and send out action alerts; provide organizing assistance to grassroots environmental groups; and assist with client intakes. Applicant Requirements:
This is a full time position that requires time flexibility due to erratic litigation schedules.
